A long time Architectural Foundation of Cincinnati board member, Nick Proffitt has taken over as board president after completing a two-year term as the vice president. He began his two-year term as president in January 2020.
Nick graduated in 2000 from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Civil Engineering. He joined Messer Construction Co in 2001, and has worked there since. Before moving to the Business Development department at the firm in 2004, he worked as a construction project leader and engineer. In his current role, Nick identifies new opportunities, manages client relationships, and creates unique solutions for those clients.
Nick’s incredible acumen and affability has helped Messer increase its regional footprint and even earned him industry awards. These awards include the Young Construction Engineer of the Year from the University of Kentucky and a leadership role in Impact NKY’s fight against the heroin epidemic.
We are very happy to welcome Mr. Proffitt into his new roll, and are looking forward to the experience and passion he brings with him.
“My career with Messer has shown me how the built environment impacts every aspect of the community it resides in, from the culture to job opportunities. It’s an honor to lead an organization whose hallmark program, Design LAB, teaches elementary-aged students about the various career opportunities within this industry and about the industry itself. We have second graders coming out of Design LAB knowing what tension and compression are and how those forces are at work in a bridge – it’s incredible! Keep an eye out for an expansion of Design LAB and the other great programs that the AFC offers, we have some exciting plans for the next couple of years!”
