Hollywood comes to the Hanna House

The AFC Great House 2012 venue , the Mary Hanna House, is being used as one of the locations of a movie in production here in Cincinnati.

“Carol” stars Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara and is set in 1950s New York. The screenplay was adapted from the novel “The Price of Salt” by Patricia Highsmith and is a love story about pursuit, betrayal and passion that follows the relationship between a department-store clerk (Mara) and an older, married woman (Blanchett). Production began in January 2014 and is expected to run through May.

Film crews have spent several days at the Hanna House, the site of AFC’s annual Great House Tour in 2012. The interior of the house offers many location options from several ¬†beautifully spacious rooms to the older kitchen and pantry.¬†Click here for interior and exterior photos of the house and more information on the home’s history.
