President and CEO David Arends’ architecture career of over 25 includes starting his own firm which merged with CR in 2002. He took over the role of President and CEO in 2004 and continually evolves CR’s services to bring clients value by keeping their objectives top-of-mind and grows the company by strategically evaluating and building relationships with key targeted clients. His experience encompasses large-scale corporate complexes to small municipal park facilities.
When asked, “What inspired you to work in the built environment?” David answered, “My father was in the building product industry and I recall spending most Saturday mornings inspecting work on large construction projects with him when I was a young child. This led me to the conclusion that I wanted to be an architect at age nine. From then on, I always had a desire to design and build things.”
David is the past-president of the non-profit Architectural Foundation of Cincinnati and actively serves on other Boards and organizations. He resides in Mariemont with his wife and two daughters.
