ABC is a free, school based program for students K-12 in area schools. This annual program teams more than 50 working architects with approximately 1300 students in more than 45 classrooms to create architectural designs and models for a competition based on a specific design challenge and theme. ABC’s goal is to engage students’ creativity, promote problem-solving skills and foster a love for the built environment.

This year students designed a museum to be located at 12th and Vine Streets in Over the Rhine. Architects recruited from local firms work side by side with participating students in classrooms between January and April. The work is guided by a curriculum developed and provided by AIA and AFC to participating teachers. Lessons emphasize design, scale, context and sustainability. Students first prepare drawings then create models using everyday materials.
