AFC Sponsors Tours of Rookwood Pottery

Cincinnati’s historic Rookwood Pottery was the most prestigious art pottery in the Western world in the first decades of the 20th century. Its pottery wares and architectural faience adorned countless houses and commercial establishments.  Rookwood Pottery’s traditions were revived recently when a successor firm opened in Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine historic district near Findlay Market.
The Architectural Foundation is sponsoring tours of the new Rookwood Pottery on Saturday, February 6, at 1 p.m., 1:45 p.m., and 2:30 p.m.  Tours will include an overview of Rookwood history, along with visits to the artists’ studio and the production room.  Free to AFC members, $10 others. Reservations for specific time and prepayment are required.
